Straight Thermocouple with ceramic outer protection tube

Thermocouples with ceramic outer protective tube are used for temperature measurement in gaseous media up to +1,800 °C. Since extreme loads occur at these temperatures, technical ceramics with the highest purity are used here. Metallic thermowells often cannot be used at these temperatures.

In order to improve the service life of the thermocouple, an additional ceramic inner tube can be used, which in most cases significantly extends the service life of the thermocouple. Depending on the ambient temperature, this thermocouple can be installed horizontally. At a temperature > +500 °C, vertical installation is preferable. On customer request, we can offer this thermocouple in different designs and dimensions.

The sensor is generally available in all thermal pairings (e.g. type S, R) and corresponds to class 1 according to DIN EN 60584. Various connection head variants are available.
